Of all the parts of the body that needs exercise, the abs is perhaps the most challenging. Ab training is very important because it can burn down unnecessary fat in your abdominal area and replace them with muscles. While many people do not want to train their abs, the exercise on 6 pack abs should be included in the workout programs. Working with abs can be easy but they will require more patience than most people think. Crunches are the best ab exercises. In doing crunches, you need to have your knees bent, opened at a shoulder level, and your heels must be flat on the floor.

Your back must be flat on the mat while setting up these positions. Think about the motion at your shoulders as you do the crunches. While moving your upper body, your shoulders must be steady. Try to operate the exercise in a very controlled slow motion. Fast and crazy does not get it done. Slow and steady wins the race. The more efficient you can be, the great and faster chance of success you will have.

Crunches also do not need the movement of your hips. You hips must be steady, or else, they will not move too much as your upper body moves towards your knee. Another way of putting it would be to put your hands at the center and crunch up your upper body. This way, you get more resistance and therefore, more effect.

Another way of getting more resistance is by putting your hands at the back of your head while doing the crunches. And if you really want a hard work out, grab a plate or weight, hold it with your hands, and start bending your upper body towards the knees. Just adding a pound or two can and will make a huge difference in the tone and shape of the abs. Adding a little weight can go a long way in great six pack ab development.

You can also feel free to use the exercise ball to work out your stomach and abdominals. The fitness ball is a great prop in working out your mid section.
Crunches are effective but the exercise alone will not give you abs. You must also reduce fat through diet and regular exercise. It would make no sense to have abs on the surface of fat.  This is a safe and effective method on how to get a six pack abs.
